(Video) Marcus Rashford completes Tottenham’s humiliation with neat finish

Manchester United have redeemed themselves for last weekend’s embarrassing defeat against Liverpool with a comprehensive performance against fellow strugglers Tottenham Hotspurs this evening. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is under increasing pressure at the club amid a poor run of results, with his side being on a four-game winless run in the Premier League prior to today. Cristiano Ronaldo gave United the lead in the first half with a fantastic volley before Edinson Cavani scored his first goal of the season after the interval.

Manchester United have doubled their advantage over Tottenham through Edinson Cavani. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer headed into today’s game knowing that Man United had to win in order to save his job. United had been battered 5-0 by Liverpool last time out. They could ill afford another negative result in North London. After a superb volley from Cristiano Ronaldo gave the Red Devils the lead, they were well-positioned to do their manager the almightiest of favours.

It was all about the strike partership. We’ve seen two really special goals from Manchester United today, but Edinson Cavani can owe that one to Cristiano Ronaldo, who scored the opener past Hugo Lloris. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer needed players to add competitive edge today. He may have started with less attackers, to make sure we tighten at the back and across midfielder, but in Ronaldo and Cavani he has an experienced strike force.

Manchester United are in action against Tottenham this afternoon as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side have an opportunity to redeem themselves after last weekend’s embarrassing defeat to Liverpool. Solskjaer named a similar starting eleven for the visit to Spurs but made two changes, with Edinson Cavani and Raphael Varane coming in for Mason Greenwood and Marcus Rashford. The change provoked a system switch, with Solskjaer deciding against going with his preferred 4-2-3-1 formation. The Norwegian’s side started the game on the front foot and eventually made their dominance pay late in the first half.

(Video): Reece James scores another monster strike to seal Chelsea win

Image
Reece James blasted in a shot on his left foot to give Chelsea the lead, he’s now just added a second, this time on his right. It was an equally clean strike, and it flew past the equally helpless Karl Darlow in the Newcastle net just as quickly.

Chelsea lead at St James Park! We were starting to fear it was going to be one of those days. Despite good possession Chelsea were struggling to create chances, and they had to little on the bench to change the game. Lukcily, we have THE MAN Reece James on the pitch. He just took the ball down in the Magpies box, switched it onto his weaker left foot to create space, and then blasted it into the goal.

Salah, 29, will see his deal with Liverpool expire in the summer of 2023 – however, considering how much of a high-profile star he has become, concerns will be mounting that some of Europe’s heavyweights may now be alerted to the evolving situation. Liverpool fans will be desperate for Egyptian megastar Mo Salah to commit his long-term future to the club and sign a new deal.  According to Football Insider, the fans aren’t the only ones hopeful of seeing Salah sign a new deal with the club’s hierarchy reportedly continuing to try and tie him down on improved terms.

Video: Crystal Palace's Wilfred Zaha scores an unbelievable goal against Manchester City

Image
Manchester City are aiming to bounce back from their Carabao Cup defeat at West Ham and continue their good run in the Premier League when they host Crystal Palace this afternoon. City are well-placed in the Premier League and were in fine form following last week's win at Brighton. However, a much-changed side lost on penalties to end City's five-year dominance of the League Cup at West Ham, so Pep Guardiola will be looking for a reaction today. Guardiola was full of praise for former City coach Patrick Vieira's early work at Palace, who have taken four points from their last three visits to the Etihad Stadium.

Video: Ramsdale makes save of the season for Arsenal to stop Leicester comeback

Image
As Leicester City went looking for a way back into the Saturday lunchtime game against Arsenal, their chance arrived just before half-time. The Foxes were awarded a free-kick just outside the box, and as dead ball specialist, James Maddison, took aim, it looked for all the world as if the ball was going to nestle in the top corner. Somehow Gunners keeper, Aaron Ramsdale, with the sun full in his face, managed to pull off an epic full-length one-handed save to keep his clean sheet, and even had the wherewithal to get straight up and repel the follow up too. Incredible.

(Video) Gabriel nods Arsenal into early lead vs. Leicester City

Image
Arsenal has taken an early lead in Saturday afternoon’s early Premier League kick-off against Brendan Rodgers’ Leicester City. The two sides, who are currently fighting for the right to take the first three points of the weekend, have both named strong starting line-ups. However, it has been Mikel Arteta’s Gunners who have started the game better. Early pressure from the Londoners led to a corner kick which resulted in centre-back Gabriel climbing highest and guiding the ball beyond Kasper Schmeichel.

Team news: confirmed Manchester United XI vs. Liverpool

Kick-off between Manchester United and Liverpool at Old Trafford is an hour away and despite doubts over his fitness, Bruno Fernandes keeps his place in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side for the mouthwatering clash between Britain’s two footballing titans. Solskjaer kept supporters guessing in his pre-match press conference but will be relieved to have his talismanic figure in midfield available. Cristiano Ronaldo, who has scored six goals in just eight games since he completed a sensational return to the club last month, also starts as he makes his ninth appearance against Liverpool for United. Full starting eleven vs. Liverpool: De Gea; Wan-Bissaka, Lindelof, Maguire, Shaw; McTominay, Fred; Greenwood, Fernandes, Rashford; Ronaldo

“Don’t even start!” Solskjaer bites back at reporter who questions Man United’s motive

Image
Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is often criticised for a lack of emotion before, during and after matches. However, the same cannot be said following the Red Devils’ dramatic 3-2 comeback win against Atalanta in Wednesday night’s Champions League group stage fixture. The Red Devils found themselves going into the half-time break two nill down and rock bottom of Group F. However, following a passionate team-talk and an emphatic second half, which saw Marcus Rashford, Harry Maguire and Cristiano Ronaldo all score, United came back to steal all three points at the death. Although Solskjaer came into Wednesday’s European tie under immense pressure following just two wins from his last seven matches, in all competitions, this latest victory has certainly afforded him more time in the Old Trafford dugout.

Video: Cristiano Ronaldo does it again as Man United come from behind in Champions League epic

Image
Cometh the hour, cometh the man, and Cristiano Ronaldo did it again for Manchester United in their Champions League tie against Atalanta on Wednesday night. Two-nil down at half-time, the Red Devils were booed off, and it needed a monumental second-half effort if Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side were going to get anything at all from the game. Marcus Rashford gave them hope before captain, Harry Maguire, stabbed home a second with 15 minutes to play to draw the hosts level. That set the stage for Ronaldo to do what he does best and send the Old Trafford faithful into ecstasy.

(Video) Maguire silences selection critics with emphatic equaliser vs. Atalanta

Image
Manchester United’s captain has come up with the goods when his side needed him the most. The England international, who has recently returned from injury, faced a number of critics following his inclusion in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s starting 11 for Wednesday’s Champions League group game against Atalanta. Despite going into the halftime break two nill down, the Red Devils have fought back brilliantly in the second half and with 15-minutes to go, have somehow managed to find themselves level. Although many questioned whether or not Maguire should have been included, the commanding centre-back has proven his worth and he could not have timed his heroics any better.

(Video) Mason Greenwood cuts in and hits top corner from distance v Leicester City

Image
Mason Greenwood has scored his fourth Premier League goal of the season. Never mind crossing the ball from the right. Mason Greenwood had one thing on his mind as he cut in from the ring wing and that was hitting the back of the net. Manchester United now lead Leicester City 1-0 at the King Power Stadium after a slow start to the game. The Foxes had been on top but they were always wary of what United could offer in the final third.

Video: Firmino gets a hat-trick as Liverpool go nap at Watford

Image
It was just about the most perfect afternoon at Vicarage Road for Liverpool, who ruined Claudio Ranieri’s Premier League homecoming with Watford in the process. The Reds didn’t need to get out of first gear and still managed to score five, the last of those seeing Roberto Firmino completing his hat-trick. Watford’s Danny Rose had had a torrid afternoon, and he was beaten with ease again before the cross was flashed across the box for the Brazilian to tuck away the simplest of chances.

Liverpool is all but certain to take all three points away from Vicarage Road. An early opener from wide-attacker Sadio Mane ensured Jurgen Klopp’s Reds got off to a flying start. Adding to their lead just before the half-time break, striker Roberto Firmino got on the end of James Milner’s cross to make it two nill.

(Video) Firmino doubles Liverpool’s lead vs. Watford following veteran’s assist

Image
Following an early Sadio Mane opener, Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool has extended their lead to two nill against Watford. Looking to improve on their lead at the top of the Premier League table, despite being matched against newly-promoted Watford, the Reds may have been less confident than usual, especially considering the side have just returned from the international break. However, if there were any doubts, they’ve certainly be quashed now. Just shy of the half-time mark, Watford already looks well beaten with new manager Claudio Ranieri likely to be fearing the worse. Striker Roberto Firmino is the latest name to get among the goals following a decent assist from veteran midfielder James Milner.

Although clear favourites to take all three points away from Vicarage Road, Liverpool has not rested on their laurels after taking the lead after just nine minutes. Clearly the better side, the Reds are not giving new Watford manager Claudio Ranieri an easy ride back in England’s top-flight. That’s an incredible goal to open the scoring! ???? EPL: Pogba receives strong warning over his attitude at Man Utd

Image
Former Liverpool player, John Barnes, has warned Manchester United midfielder, Paul Pogba, that he needs to improve his attitude when playing for the Red Devils. Barnes wants to see Pogba improve his performances for Man United to match his displays for France national team. Pogba has largely struggled to produce consistent form for Man United since his big-money return to Old Trafford from Juventus in 2016. The 28-year-old star has only won two trophies with United since his return, claiming the Europa League and League Cup in his first season back at the club under Jose Mourinho’s regime. “Winning the World Cup in 2018 did not help Paul Pogba to win any trophies for Manchester United, “Barnes told Bonuscodebets. Playing for France and Manchester United are two different things. He plays much better for France than Manchester United, and that has a lot to do with how he feels about playing for France in terms of being a team player. “Whereas, for Manchester United, with his pric...

Solskjaer admits Man Utd are hoping to agree new contract with 28-year-old star

Image
Manchester United are hoping to reach an agreement with Jesse Lingard on a new contract at Old Trafford, manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer confirmed in his pre-match press conference. Lingard has started the season in good form, scoring two goals and assisting the 95th-minute winner against Villarreal despite being sparingly used by Solskjaer. The 28-year-old was one of the best players in the Premier League during his half-season loan with West Ham last season, scoring nine goals and assisting a further four in just 16 appearances for David Moyes’ side. Lingard has less than one year remaining on his contract at Manchester United, sparking rumours he could be about to leave the club. He is free to speak with foreign clubs over a pre-agreement in January. “Jesse has had a good start to the season, of course,” Solskjaer is quoted as saying by the official Manchester United website. “He’s come on and scored a few goals for us, that’s been very important for us. He knows what we want, we...

EPL: I am Man Utd’s manager – Solskjaer insists after dropping Ronaldo

Image
Manchester United manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, has made it clear that he decides when Cristiano Ronaldo plays. The Norwegian has come under serious pressure for dropping Ronaldo in their last Premier League clash against Everton. The Red Devils were held to a 1-1 draw in that game at Old Trafford. Ronaldo stormed off down the tunnel after the match and former United boss Sir Alex Ferguson was later heard saying that a manager should always start with his best team. But Solskjaer, addressing the press on Friday, said: “I’m the manager. I manage the players for the club. It’s nice to have him on the pitch because he’ll always come up with the goods. The more we have him on the pitch the better. He’s an exceptional player, an exceptional finisher, goal scorer, and an exceptional professional. It’s hard to leave him out and I think everyone would love to, how do you say, if you can go and play six games in six days and play the same XI every time, it’s great. “But rotation, we need ...

Video: Didier Drogba scores hat-trick and does iconic Chelsea celebration in charity match

Image
Didier Drogba was back doing what he does best on Wednesday night as the Chelsea legend fired in a hat-trick in a charity match. The Ivorian donned Marseille’s jersey again in a clash against Arsene Wenger’s UNICEF XI, alongside the likes of Robert Pires and Samir Nasri. Drogba netted twice before pulling off his iconic celebration for his third, while F1 star Pierre Gasly found himself on the scoresheet. The four-time Premier League winner, who netted 164 times for the London club in 381, took home the match ball as Marseille ran out 7-4 victors.

(Video) Manchester United loanee Andreas Pereira scores ridiculous free-kick for Flamengo(Video) Manchester United loanee Andreas Pereira scores ridiculous free-kick for Flamengo

Image
Manchester United loanee Andreas Pereira scored an absolute belter for Flamengo during their clash with Juventude. Pereira was previously considered one of the hottest prospects at Old Trafford, but has struggled to deliver on the promise he showed during his younger years. That said, the Brazilian does have a ‘golazo’ in his locker, as he showed during Man United’s pre-season triumph over Brentford, prior to his departure on loan. Pereira is wasting no time showing the Flamengo faithful what he’s capable of, either. Have a look at this quite ridiculous free-kick he netted tonight against Juventude.

(Video) Cristiano Ronaldo heads home to complete his hat-trick for Portugal in World Cup qualifying

Image
Cristiano Ronaldo has completed his hat-trick for Portugal against Luxembourg in World Cup qualifying. Ronaldo had a brace within 13 minutes of the contest, having scored two penalties in the space of just five minutes. Considering he was coming up against the team ranked 94th on the planet, you fancied his chances to get a third. After the Manchester United forward had a quite extraordinary touch and bicycle-kick effort saved by the goalkeeper, you wondered whether it just wasn’t going to be his day. However, just a matter of minutes later, Ronaldo added his third goal of the game to complete his 58th career hat-trick, a downright stupid number for a single player.

4 ways Manchester United could line up vs. Leicester without Maguire and Varane - Opinion

Image
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer takes his United side to the King Power Stadium as his Reds begin a brutal run of fixtures with the potential to make – or indeed, break – their season. Solskjaer has come under increasing pressure following a string of far from impressive showings and his cause isn’t being helped by injuries to key men at crucial times. With captain Harry Maguire to miss the trip to his former side with a calf injury, United’s problems were further compounded when Raphael Varane was forced off during his country’s Nations League final victory over Spain.

How Manchester United could line up vs. Leicester without Maguire and Varane

Image
Manchester United are set to embark on a tricky run of fixtures after the current international break, with the game against Leicester on Saturday to be the first of several challenging games. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been dealt a huge blow in his bid to cement a settled backline into his side, with Raphael Varane set to miss the next couple of weeks with a muscle injury. The 28-year-old sustained the injury in France’s UEFA Nations League final against Spain last week and will now be forced to watch on for the foreseeable future. Varane’s injury adds to Manchester United’s defensive woes, having already had Wan-Bissaka suspended for one Champions League game, Shaw missing the same game and Harry Maguire also ruled out.

(Video) Bruno Fernandes scores Portugal’s third after Cristiano Ronaldo brace

Image
Portugal’s World Cup qualifier against Luxembourg is turning out to be quite the outing for Fernando Santos’ side.  The home side, who are currently top of their qualifying group, took an early lead in the game through Manchester United forward Cristiano Ronaldo. The forward scored two penalties inside the first 13 minutes of the game, putting the clash to bed before it had even started.  Bruno Fernandes, who is still the main man at Manchester United, had no interest in being upstaged by his team-mate and decided to get in on the act.

(Video) Ronaldo scores crucial winner against Villarreal in stoppage-time

Image
Cristiano Ronaldo sent Old Trafford wild with his stoppage time goal for Manchester United against Villarreal, but should the goal have counted? The Portugal international didn’t do anything wrong with his movement in the box and his finish, but it looked like Jesse Lingard was in an offside position when Ronaldo took his effort at goal.  Take a look below as Lingard is not only in an offside position, but possibly obstructing the Villarreal goalkeeper as well, meaning there’s no argument about whether or not he was interfering with play… This looks like another very lucky moment for Man Utd as they snatched an unlikely victory in a game Villarreal largely dominated.
